Jean Defuria upholds a holy conviction when it comes to her personal stewardship for God’s Kingdom.
Godly stewardship involves intentionally assessing the provision He gives, and maximizing it to the fullest potential. With 15+ years of experience in faith-based nonprofits and fund accounting, she helps serve others by using her time, talent, and resources to bring hope and provision to communities in need.
She came to Tearfund after resigning from a full-time position as Director of Finance for a large Presbyterian Church. She enjoys work that teaches her more about the world God created, and the challenges other countries face, and has dedicated much of her life’s work to international ministries that serve global communities.
Jean’s passion to follow Jesus where the need is greatest is a daily motivator for her, and she does her best to support Tearfund’s global work by providing accurate and timely financial information.
She considers it a privilege and honor to be a part of an organization that seeks to be the “hands and feet” of Christ by working to end poverty, bring relief to the most vulnerable, and transform communities.
