Paul Mershak

Nigeria

Paul Mershak’s heartfelt calling involves lifting people out of poverty by untapping their natural God's given potentials and using their local resources to address their immediate needs.

With more than 30 years of experience in the humanitarian and public health fields, Paul’s career has spanned across government, local, and international organizations.

Since 2012, he’s been working with Tearfund, and in 2016, he took the role of Country Director for Nigeria. Poverty alleviation is his main passion, and the Church and Community Transformation (CCT) as the gateway is what drives his team’s work in caring for the less privileged.

Paul studied Microbiology and Virology and earned a PGD in HIV and AIDS at the University of Jos. He also has a Masters in Public Health from the University of Roehampton.

He and his wife celebrated 30 years of marriage in 2020, and they have four children.
