Tearfund's Coronavirus Response

In the midst of this great uncertainty, we are coming together to pray for you and your families, and will continue to pray for you on a daily basis. If you have specific prayer needs please text the word “PRAY” to 88202 and then you will be able to send us your specific requests.

Tearfund is currently assessing how coronavirus is affecting the world’s poorest and most vulnerable communities. Many of our church and local partners are already taking action to care for their neighbors and those in need. We are looking carefully at how we can best support communities to have a meaningful, sustained response to this pandemic. We will keep you posted as we assess how the Coronavirus will impact communities already facing hunger, poverty, and other challenges.

More than ever, it is important that we find hope in remembering who Jesus is. These are the words Jesus shared with his disciples before he was arrested and crucified, from John 16:32-33:

“A time is coming and in fact has come when you will be scattered, each to your own home. You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me. I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

We have all indeed taken to our homes, but just as the Father was with Jesus, he is also with each of us. We are praying that you may find moments of peace and comfort at this time, and that you feel a greater sense of solidarity with each other as we all take actions to protect the most vulnerable among us.

Don’t forget to send us your prayer requests. We will devote ourselves to praying for you.

God be with you,

Jason Fileta
