Nations in lockdown, widespread uncertainty, hospitals struggling to cope – we’ve seen with our own eyes how devastating coronavirus can be. Our own nation is suffering a crisis unlike anything any of us have seen before.
These uncertain times have created significant challenges for communities and churches around the world, but the Church now has an opportunity to be a much-needed source of comfort, hope, and truth.
This season provokes us to reflect on how we share in each other’s suffering, center ourselves on God, learn to trust Him more, and rise to the calling that does not expire simply because the world is in trouble, but perhaps is even more important now: to demonstrate the radical love of Christ to the most vulnerable in our world.
We pray it helps you develop an understanding that Christ is with us in our suffering. God has given us His Spirit to comfort us and guide us, but also to call us to action.
While you read it, may you encounter the Holy Spirit and be inspired to commit in joyful obedience to God’s command to love Him with all your heart and soul and strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself.
