On Monday morning, February 6, Syria and Turkey were hit by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake which was quickly followed by a 7.6 earthquake hours later amid several aftershocks. The death toll of more than 42,000 people continues to rise with the collapse of more than 6,500 buildings in the southeastern region of Turkey along the border of Syria.
