Hebdavi Kyeya Muhindo has a vision of building a just, inclusive society in the Democratic Republic of Congo in which everyone reaches their full potential and enjoys their God-given human rights.
Hebdavi is primarily a husband and a father of three lovely daughters. He is currently the Country Director for Tearfund in DRC. His professional background includes successfully managing multi-million development programs in the sectors of Livelihoods; Agriculture and value chains; Water Hygiene and Sanitation (Wash); Peacebuilding; Gender transformation; and so forth, both in DRC and around the region.
Before joining the community development sector, Hebdavi worked in the banking sector with a special emphasis on micro-financing and supporting start-up income generating activities for lower income people.
He is especially passionate about Youth Development and thus, co-created a youth development organization whose vision is to inspire, support and equip young leaders in the Democratic Republic of Congo. To date, this initiative has seen more than 900 young Congolese women and men trained and mentored into Leadership. He believes in a better tomorrow for Africa through empowerment of the young generation of today.
Hebdavi holds degrees in Accounting and Management and an MA in Global Development.
Outside of the professional arena, he is a devoted Christian and an advocate of the church’s holistic mission for community transformation.
