Marc Antoine

Haiti

Marc-Romyr Antoine believes that God’s plan for the world is the church. He wants to be a part of a group of Christians working together to strengthen this divine institution, so it can be what God has called it to be and do what God has called it to do.

He grew up as a Haitian immigrant in the US, and through the story of Nehemiah, he discerned a divine call to move back to Haiti and participate in the transformation of his homeland.

Marc has an MA in International Development and also studied theology culminating in an M. Div. Marc is an ordained Pastor, author and international justice activist. Prior to Tearfund Marc was involved in youth development, civic engagement, and church-led advocacy in the US and around the world.

Starting out as an intern at Tearfund, Marc now looks after the team in Haiti. His country faces challenges on many fronts, from poverty and corruption to food insecurity, Covid-19 and the threat of natural disasters. Against this backdrop, he can see areas of potential in Haiti and is working to reach young people via new digital technology.
