Put your faith into action to tackle poverty and injustice – your voice can make a difference.
In addition to responding to urgent crises and working for long-term sustainable development, Tearfund has recognized how critical advocacy is to address the root causes of poverty and the obstacles to overcoming poverty.
What is advocacy?
Advocacy is challenging the political, social, economic, and spiritual conditions that perpetuate injustice. It promotes policies and practices that promote the flourishing of all creation.
At Tearfund, we partner with local communities to train and equip churches, youth and women to advocate for change. In Honduras, we worked with local partners to help indigenous communities secure land rights, In Guatemala, Tearfund and our partners worked with local churches to advocate for improved access to healthcare for people living in poverty, and in the process exposed fraud and corruption. In the United States, we mobilize supporters to examine the policies and practices of our nation and our churches to identify ways we can challenge some of the root causes of injustice. You can partner with us for:
- Advocacy training
- Advocacy campaigning for climate justice, racial justice, gender equality and protection of refugees.
